Autumn network events
We’re holding a series of regional network events to launch the new Teaching and Learning Programme. For dates in your area and to book your place at an event, click here.
The autumn series of activities starts with the launch of the next Subject Learning Coach (SLC) programme and subject networks together with some generic learning resources:
- Developing the expert learner
- Supporting learner progression
- Learning Mathematics in context
These resources will be available for collection at the network events and delegates will have an opportunity during the day to explore the new, exciting and innovative approaches contained within each resource.
There will be one event per region for both managers and SLCs in the nine priority subject areas.
Similar separate network events will take place for Science, Engineering and Mathematics, and will be delivered by the STEM consortium.
For more information, see the subject coaching networks flyer.
Network dates
Coaching, collaboration and community; the future for Subject Learning Coaches
These events are for managers and SLCs in the following subject areas:
- Adult education
- Business education
- Construction and the built environment
- Entry to employment (E2)/Foundation learning tier
- Society, health and development
- IT
- Land-based studies
- Modern foreign languages

There will be coaching networks for existing SLCs, colleagues considering becoming SLCs and anyone else interested in joining the programme. All activities will support the Institute for Learning (IfL) continuing professional development (CPD) requirement and certificates will be available.
Separate workshops will take place for managers who will be able to explore and shape ideas and share good practice about whole organisation approaches to quality improvement.
Booking is now available online, click on the link after each event for more information. We expect demand for these events to be high so places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
